Hi, I’m Dani Kochis.
Passionate about helping people make music, I have been a piano technician since the start of 2025. After struggling to find fulfillment in my previous roles in customer service, I decided to pursue something I knew I would love to do.
Upon starting my career in piano technology, I have encountered numerous opportunities to learn and grow my skills of the trade. I am part of the Denver chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild, where members share knowledge and skills with each other. I also study under my mentor, Dan Mariotti of Altitude Piano, who is also the piano technician at Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
I have had the pleasure to be employed as the interim piano technician for three months at Lamont School of Music at the end of 2025 through the start of 2026. Additionally, I worked as the piano technician at American Samaritan for several months in 2025 and 2026. I also directed their Pianos to the People scholarship program, where I awarded free pianos to students who could not afford to purchase one.
Outside of my work, I love to attend my local brewery’s weekly jazz night, explore Denver’s food offerings, and play puzzle games with my husband.
What I Do
I’m a piano technician. I’m here to help you keep your piano looking, feeling, and ultimately sounding great. I aim to help musicians make music by ensuring their instrument is in great shape. Through tuning, I ensure that your piano sounds as it should. Through cleaning, I ensure that your piano does not undergo any unnecessary wear from foreign objects and debris. Through regulation, I ensure your piano feels the way it should. Through repairs, I ensure your piano is functioning as it should.

When you work with me, you can expect me to be transparent about about my prices, knowledge, and expertise.
Whenever an estimate is provided, I will let you know where the cost comes from. If there is any possibility of a difference in the cost I estimate, I will also let you know so you can decide accordingly.
Whenever I provide my knowledge and expertise, I always do my best to ensure that my information is accurate, and my actions cause no harm. If I lack any information or skills to answer your questions or get the job done, you can expect me to consult with other experts in the piano technology field for guidance or to refer you.
